An Engineer by profession with more than 16 years of experience, Makarand has a Masters in Computer Engineering, Santa Clara University, USA and brings with him profound knowledge and experience in embedded system software design and development. A US Based technocrat from 9 years, he was part of the core committee at Dolby Laboratories, instrumental in recommending standards for Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) in US and was part of the team that deployed D – Cinema theaters in more than 400 sites across the world. During his tenure at Dolby, he also contributed to the first widely deployed digital cinema, Incredibles and George Lucas’ Star Wars series which conducted several premiers across Europe on Dolby system. Makarand has also filed two patents related to digital cinema for Dolby in USA. In addition, he has worked in the domain of server technologies at Sun Microsystems USA and Chip design related work at Cirrus Logic USA.
